Linear Kalman Filter-Based Grid Synchronization Technique: An Alternative Implementation

Grid synchronization techniques play a significant role in integrating renewable energy sources to the electric power grid. In this context, estimating phase and frequency of grid voltage signal is an interesting problem. Out various available literature, linear Kalman filter (LKF) one most popular one. article, we propose alternative implementation LKF for application. The proposed uses parametric model including dc offset. It does not involve any quadrature generation, rather it works by angle. This helps estimate unknown directly from clearly differentiates with respect existing implementations. Performance improvement technique verified extensively through comparative numerical simulation experimental studies. Comparative results demonstrate suitability other state-of-the-art namely second-order generalized integrator phase-locked loop enhanced loop.
